IMEA – Mato Grosso Institute of Agricultural Economics – updated the production cost for soybean from Mato Grosso for the 2019/20 crop, for the month of June this year. Based on the new data, operating cost (CO) was BRL 3,498.10/hectare and the total cost (TC) was BRL 3,905.45/hectare, representing a brief decrease of 0.22% and 0.19% compared to May, respectively.
“In general, the price adjustments were caused by the devaluation of the dollar in the period (decrease of 3.6% in June’s average compared to May’s average), reflecting the domestic policy and the international market. In this way, inputs quoted in the US currency, such as macronutrients and herbicides, fell by 0.77% and 0.42%, respectively. With less than two months for the beginning of the planting period of the grain in the state, most producers have already purchased their inputs and, with this, attention is turning to preparations for this new crop”, concludes the institute.
